Strong Results and Standout Performances at Coupe de Montréal Round One

The opening round of Coupe de Montréal proved to be a great start to the season for the team, with impressive pace, breakthrough performances, and hard-fought battles. Competing against some of the strongest talent in Canadian karting, the team showed speed and determination throughout the entire weekend.

Leading the charge was Leo Da Silva, who delivered a dominant performance in Rotax Junior. Da Silva established himself as the driver to beat, consistently running at the front in every session. His pace translated perfectly into the final, where he controlled the race and secured a well-earned P1 finish to cap off an incredible weekend.

Rory Baziuk also showed impressive pace in Rotax Junior. Continuing to build confidence and consistency, Baziuk demonstrated strong speed against a highly competitive field and continued making gains across the weekend.

Rotax Senior proved to be the most competitive class. Liam Constantin delivered an excellent drive, putting together a composed and competitive weekend to secure P7. Constantin showed strong racecraft and consistency throughout, proving he has the pace to battle among the front-runners.

Making his Rotax Senior debut, Kristopher Goulet impressed with a strong P9 finish. Moving into such a competitive class is never easy, but Goulet adapted quickly and continued improving throughout the weekend, earning a top-ten result.

Josh Soumvalis delivered one of the standout drives of the weekend with an incredible recovery performance in the final. Starting from 22nd on the grid, Soumvalis fought his way through the field with determination and precision to finish in a well-deserved P10. His ability to navigate traffic and consistently move forward highlighted both his pace and racecraft under pressure.

Ayden Ingratta’s weekend showcased both resilience and outright speed. After encountering an issue in qualifying that left him starting deep in the field, Ingratta mounted an incredible comeback drive in the prefinal, charging from P15 all the way to P2 with exceptional pace. Unfortunately, an incident in the final took him out of contention before he had the opportunity to fight for the win. Despite the result, Ingratta’s performance throughout the weekend made it clear he was one of the fastest drivers on track.

Few stories from the weekend were as bittersweet as Will Bouthillier’s. Unquestionably the benchmark throughout the event, topping every single session and placing P1 all weekend long. Entering the final as the clear favorite, unfortunate circumstances in Turn 1 ended his race early and left him classified P15. Despite the result, his pace throughout the weekend demonstrated the speed and potential the team carries heading deeper into the season.

Even with the difficult outcomes in the final, both Bouthillier and Ingratta established themselves as the clear benchmarks for outright pace across the weekend. Their speed in every session consistently placed them at the front of the field and showed the level of performance the team was capable of throughout the weekend.

In Rotax Masters, Taylor De Young enjoyed an impressive debut weekend with the team. Competing in his first event under the REM tent, De Young immediately established himself as a contender, running near the top five throughout the weekend and ultimately securing a strong P7 finish. His speed, adaptability, and comfort within the team environment made for an extremely promising first outing together.
